Every year on World Refugee Day (June 20th), we’re focused on telling the stories of refugees—of people beyond numbers—and showing the power of welcoming refugees. World Refugee Day 2023 is an effort to invite the world to see celebrate and honor refugees and immigrants from all over the world.
IRC’s goal is to change the narrative of refugees that is typically portrayed—with refugees telling their own stories on how they want to be seen or heard, and showing the world their hopes, dreams, and values. Refugees are multi-dimensional human beings—more than the label of a refugee and not defined by their displacement..
On this special day, we want to celebrate with refugee families and welcome them into our community. Bring your families, friends, and loved ones, and a celebratory attitude. This in-person event will take place in the cafeteria and the courtyard of the high school.
